The benefits for maternity leave in the U.S. are inconsistent, and there are far fewer of them than in much of the rest of the industrialized world. Please write a one-page (double-spaced) essay addressing each of the following questions.
1. Why do you think paid maternity leave has not been a priority in the U.S. as it is in other industrialized nations?
2. Why is maternity leave important to children? To families?
3. Research the maternity leave benefits in your state. How do they compare with other states in the U.S.?
